It is very easy to multiply by 10 or multiples of 10 i.e. 100,1000,10000 etc.
Just transfer the 0 to that number.
Ex.
a. 2*10= 20.
b. 21*100=2100
c. 2345*1000=2345000.
Now let us suppose that we want to multiply a digit number , THEN MOVE THE DECIMAL TO THE PLACES RIGHT THE NUMBER OF ZEROS.
Ex.
a. 1.2 * 10= 12 (1 place right )
b. 1.2345 * 100 = 123.45 (2 places right )
c. 2.5478 * 1000= 2547.8 (3 places right )
Same is with division . In place of RIGHT MOVE LEFT.
a. 1234.5 / 10 = 123.45 (1 place left)
b. 1234.5 / 100 = 12.345 (2 place left)
c. 1234.5 / 10000 = 0.12345 (4 place left)
d. 1.2 / 1000 = 0.0012 (3 place left )
More to come....
